Terms of Service

Last updated: 24 June 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Rounds (the "Service"), provided from South Africa. Please read them carefully. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms.

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By signing up for, accessing, or using Rounds you confirm that you are at least 18 years old (or have the consent of a parent or guardian) and that you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

Rounds is a household task and errand manager. It lets you create shared shopping lists and tasks, invite household members, track warranties, and receive optional location-based reminders when you are near a store or mall on one of your lists. Features depend on the device permissions you grant (notifications, location) and may vary between web and mobile.

3. Your account and responsibilities

  • You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide when signing up.
  • You are responsible for keeping your password and invite codes confidential and for all activity that takes place under your account.
  • You must notify us promptly at roundsappsa@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.
  • Household owners are responsible for who they invite. Members of a household can see shared lists, tasks, warranties, and approximate locations of other members.

4. Acceptable use

When using Rounds you agree not to:

  • Break any law, infringe anyone's rights, or use the Service to harass, threaten, or harm others.
  • Upload content you do not own or have permission to share, or anything that is unlawful, hateful, or sexually explicit.
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, our infrastructure, or other users' data.
  • Use the Service to send spam or unsolicited messages.
  • Interfere with the proper operation of the Service, including by overloading our systems or bypassing security measures.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these rules.

5. Subscriptions, billing and refunds

Rounds offers the following plans:

  • Free — R0. Limited to 2 lists, shopping type only, with up to 5 location alerts per month.
  • Pro — R89 per month. Unlimited lists, all list types, unlimited location alerts, full history, spend tracking, and warranty reminders.
  • Family — R139 per month. Everything in Pro, plus up to 15 members and 5 households.

Paid subscriptions are billed in South African Rand (ZAR) and processed by Paystack. By subscribing you authorise Paystack to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from within the app or by emailing us; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Prices and plan benefits may change. We will give you reasonable notice of any material change before it applies to your renewal. If you do not agree, you may cancel before the next renewal.

Unless required by law, fees are non-refundable. If something has gone wrong with a charge, contact us at roundsappsa@gmail.com and we will look into it.

6. Intellectual property

Rounds, including its software, design, branding, and content we provide, is owned by the Rounds team and protected by South African and international intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for personal, non-commercial household use in accordance with these Terms.

You retain ownership of the content you upload (such as list items, warranty details, and photos). By uploading content you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, transmit, and display that content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Service for you and your household.

7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we make no warranties, express or implied, about the Service, including its accuracy, reliability, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose. Location-based reminders depend on your device, network, and the permissions you grant — we cannot guarantee they will always be delivered or be on time.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Rounds team, its owners, employees, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.

Our total aggregate liability to you for all claims relating to the Service in any 12-month period will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in that period or (b) ZAR 500. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under South African law, including under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008.

8. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. You can delete your account from inside the app (Household screen → "Delete my account") or by emailing us. Deletion is permanent and removes your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if continued provision would expose us to legal risk, or if we discontinue the Service. Where reasonable, we will give you notice and an opportunity to fix the issue.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will let you know in the app or by email before it takes effect. Your continued use of the Service after the change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the latest revision.

10. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You and we agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts to resolve any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service. Nothing in these Terms affects your rights as a consumer under South African law.
